Dangerous Trade War Looms as Trump Accuses All Nations of Exploitation
President Donald Trump made shocking accusations recently, declaring that “all countries are taking advantage” of the United States in a press conference at the White House. The cacophony of complaints and countermeasures is already setting the stage for an escalating trade conflict.
Standing alongside Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who seemed to be struggling with the complexities of the situation, Trump announced that on April 2nd, a new “External Revenue Service” would be established. Starting from March 12th, the Trump administration imposed a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports, regardless of country of origin.
