Smiley, a member of the team at “Vocea României” since 2011, is always excited to film for this show at PRO TV. Here’s what the artist admitted after Loredana Groza’s departure from the show.
Smiley is the only coach who has remained from the first season until now on “Vocea României”. He was only 28 years old when he received the proposal to join the show’s team at PRO TV. The singer films eagerly for this project every time and is thrilled to have become the longest-serving coach on the show’s team.
The singer remembers that Mona Segall asked him to join this project after seeing him on “Românii au talent” alongside Pavel Bartoș. Smiley recalls that he was initially intimidated by Loredana Groza and Horia Brenciu.
Mona told me: ‘We want to make a show called Vocea României’. When I heard that it was called Vocea României, I said: ‘Yes, I want to do it’. Then she told me that I would be with Loredana Groza, Horia Brenciu, Marius Moga. I was like: ‘Am I the youngest? What am I going to do there?’.
I was about Theo’s age when I started this. And I was slightly intimidated by Loredana Groza first, by Horia Brenciu. They were people with much more experience. But because I was also an artist, a producer, a composer, it made sense for me to be there, to develop artists.
I was very happy to have this opportunity and to still be here. I love this project so much that I wish it never ends, we’ll see how it goes,”
While the coaches on “Vocea României” have changed over the seasons, Smiley explained why he chose to remain:
“Yes, I stayed because I really like the show. I love this format, it’s something I’ve been doing for over 20 years in real life and somehow it translates into this show.”
What Smiley noticed about his daughter
It seems that little Josephine, 2 years old, is starting to follow in her father’s footsteps. The artist’s daughter, with Gina Pistol, sings and dances around the house. “She certainly has musical talent, she has a very well-developed musical ear. She dances, she has a very well-developed musical sense from what I’ve seen,” said Smiley for the aforementioned source.
Additionally, the artist added: “Whatever she wants to do, I will support her.”
