Recomandări pentru Prevenirea Efectelor Caniculei – Ghid Detaliat al DSP Arad

Având în vedere temperaturile ridicate din perioada curentă, Direcția de Sănătate Publică Arad aduce în atenția publicului o serie de recomandări vitale pentru prevenirea și combaterea efectelor caniculei asupra stării de sănătate.


Recomandări pentru populația generală
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun between 11:00 am – 6:00 pm and use sunscreen for exposed areas;
  • If you have air conditioning, set it so that the temperature is 5°C lower than the ambient temperature;
  • Do not use fans if the air temperature exceeds 32°C;
  • If you don’t have air conditioning at home or work, spend 2-3 hours daily in air-conditioned spaces;
  • Take lukewarm showers throughout the day without drying off;
  • Wear sun hats, loose, light-colored clothing made from natural fibers;
  • Drink at least 1.5 – 2 liters of liquids daily without waiting to feel thirsty;
  • Avoid alcohol consumption as it leads to dehydration and reduces the body’s ability to adapt to heat;
  • Avoid beverages high in caffeine (coffee, tea, cola) or sugar as they are diuretic;
  • Consume fresh fruits and vegetables with high water content;
  • A dose of yogurt has the same hydration effect as a glass of water;
  • Avoid outdoor activities that require high energy consumption and perform them during cooler temperature intervals;
  • Avoid hot or heavy meals;
  • Take care of dependents (children, elderly, disabled) and offer them fluids regularly;
  • Maintain constant contact with elderly or disabled neighbors, relatives, and acquaintances, inquiring about their health status;
  • Avoid swimming in unregulated water bodies as it poses risks of drowning and diseases.

Recomandări pentru limitarea creșterii temperaturii în locuințe
  • Close sun-exposed windows, lower blinds or curtains;
  • Keep windows closed when the outdoor temperature is higher than indoors;
  • Open windows late evening, night, and early morning to create airflow for ventilation;
  • Turn off or dim artificial lights;
  • Turn off any unnecessary electrical appliances;

Recomandări pentru persoanele care aparțin unor grupuri vulnerabile

1. Recomandări pentru sugari și copiii mici:

  • Ensure a heat- and humidity-free environment for infants and young children;
  • Do not alter the child’s diet by introducing new foods during this period;
  • Ensure proper hydration of children; for infants, breastfeeding on demand;
  • Dress children in light, natural fabric garments;
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for children under 6 months;
  • Avoid outings between 10:00 am – 6:00 pm; opt for shaded areas;
  • Provide plain water, very weak tea, fresh and well-washed fruits;
  • Breastfeeding mothers should hydrate adequately and maintain strict hygiene;
  • At the slightest sign of distress in the child or mother, consult the family doctor for appropriate therapy;
  • Pay special attention to hygiene conditions for both the child and mother;
  • Preschoolers should have room temperature showers;
  • Visit shaded playgrounds outside peak heat hours and protect children’s head, face, and neck with wide-brimmed hats;

2. Recomandari pentru copiii aflați în tabere:

  • Ensure appropriate accommodation for children;
  • Provide only fresh food, adhering to strict hygiene standards;
  • Ensure proper hydration of children;
  • Supervise children constantly;
  • Place play areas in shaded areas and organize activities outside peak heat hours;
  • If swimming, ensure continuous supervision;

3. Recomandări pentru persoanele vârstnice și cu afecțiuni cronice:

  • Provide a non-demanding environment for the body’s adaptation;
  • Stay hydrated with plain water, weak tea, or homemade fruit juices;
  • Consume predominantly fresh vegetables and fruits;
  • Consume only fresh foods purchased from refrigerated stores;
  • Avoid alcohol and coffee during heatwaves;
  • Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours and wear light, natural fabric clothes with a protective hat;
  • Continue medical treatment as prescribed by the doctor;
  • Maintain personal hygiene rigorously;
  • Shower 3-4 times a day;

Recomandări pentru persoanele care depun efort fizic deosebit
  • Adjust physical activity according to the time of day, avoiding excessive effort during peak heat times;
  • Stay hydrated with water, weak tea, or homemade fruit juices;
  • Avoid alcohol and coffee during heatwaves;
  • Use appropriate clothing made of natural materials and protect your head from excessive heat.

Recomandări pentru angajatori

1. Pentru ameliorarea condițiilor de muncă

  • Ensure workplace ventilation;
  • Alternate between dynamic and static tasks;
  • Alternate work periods with rest in shaded, airy areas;

2. Pentru menținerea stării de sănătate a angajaților:

  • Provide drinking water at a rate of 2-4 liters per person per shift;
  • Provide personal protective equipment;
  • Ensure access to showers.

Recomandări pentru situațiile de cod roșu
  • Limit non-essential travel;
  • Avoid outdoor activities between 11:00 am – 5:00 pm;
  • Consume 2-4 liters of liquids daily;
  • Avoid alcohol consumption;
  • Administer medications for chronic conditions routinely with plenty of water;
  • Avoid exposing children under 3 years old outside except in the early morning before 9:00 am and evening after 8:00 pm;
  • Avoid heavy meals;
  • Use hospital or emergency medical services only for justified cases and notify the family doctor for routine health issues;
