The Romanian Government has announced a new formula for calculating the RCA tariff, which will result in a maximum recommended premium of only 9,000 lei for class B0, bringing it closer to the reference tariff. This decision will lead to the establishment of a sustainable price, below the level registered in neighboring countries, even for small carriers who own a small number of vehicles, between 2 and 3. These carriers do not have the same resources as companies with larger fleets, wrote Marcel Ciolacu in a social media post.

In addition, installment payments for RCA policies will be allowed, providing extra support for carriers. Furthermore, there will be the possibility to temporarily suspend the RCA policy when the vehicle is parked for a certain period due to various reasons.

“Another commitment fulfilled! I welcome today’s decision of the ASF Council, which will provide transporters access to a reasonable premium rate for RCA insurance. The new calculation formula will ensure that the maximum recommended premium does not exceed 9,000 lei for class B0, which is very close to the reference tariff. It will be a sustainable price, lower than our neighboring countries, even for small carriers with 2-3 trucks who do not have the same possibilities as companies with large fleets. Additionally, installment payments for RCA insurance will be allowed, as well as the possibility to suspend the policy while the vehicle is parked for a certain period due to various reasons. This government will continue to address all legitimate issues of farmers and transporters,” wrote the Prime Minister on his Facebook page.
