ActualitatePrimarul Daniel Băluţă dezvăluie planurile pentru construirea unui nou aeroport în sudul Capitalei, o mare promisiune pentru dezvoltarea infrastructurii aeriene în București.

Daniel Băluță, together with the Giurgiu County Council, has announced plans to build an international airport in the southern area of the capital.

“Today, on Bucharest’s anniversary, I have another important announcement. It’s not a joke, but a very serious matter. Together with the President of the Giurgiu County Council, we have started the preliminary procedures for the construction of an airport in the southern area of the capital. It will be an international airport, both for passenger transport and with a significant cargo component, as at this moment, Henri Coandă International Airport is overwhelmed in this regard. We are doing all of this because we want Bucharest to truly become a Western city. Spacious, green, and most importantly, well-connected with the rest of Europe,” said the mayor of Sector 4.

On Bucharest’s anniversary, the Sector 4 community gifts the Capital with a new park.

A unique gift for the Capital! Today, on Bucharest’s anniversary, which celebrates 564 years since the city’s first documented mention, the Sector 4 community has given the Capital a new park. Tudor Arghezi Park, the newest park in Bucharest, has opened its gates wide for all those who wish to relax and socialize in an oasis of greenery and tranquility. Immediately after the inauguration, the space became packed with hundreds of people already waiting at the entrance.

Located on Metalurgiei Boulevard in Sector 4, an area undergoing urban development, where many young families have chosen to settle in recent years, Tudor Arghezi Park currently covers 4 hectares. Originally designed for a smaller area, the park has gradually been extended through expropriation to increase the green area of this zone, which until its appearance, did not offer any outdoor leisure facilities. This need was emphasized by the mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, at the opening of the new park.

“It is no accident that today, on Bucharest’s anniversary, we manage to enrich the city’s green reserve with another park, Tudor Arghezi Park. I assure people that this is not the final size of the park, which is currently 4 hectares. We will continue the expropriation procedures in order to at least double the current area. Once we achieve this, we will dedicate the obtained space to sports, as this is the specificity of this new park, which features a running track, cycling lane, scooter lane, and fitness equipment,” said Mayor Daniel Băluță.

Designed according to the needs of the people living in the Metalurgiei area, the park currently has a generous green area for those who want to take a walk in nature, but also dedicated areas for outdoor sports activities: a 1670-meter-long athletics track, a bicycle lane, and a fitness area. Furthermore, in the immediate vicinity, no less than 14 sports fields have been arranged, where sports enthusiasts can practice various ball sports.

At the same time, inside the park, an ecological beach, a special area for pets, as well as a 150-space parking lot have been arranged. The main attraction of the park, however, is the musical fountain, which will offer visitors a unique spectacle of light and color every evening.
