Theater enthusiasts in the Turda region and tourists who made Turda their destination enjoyed a spectacular edition of the Theater Festival. The biggest theaters from Romania, companies of street artists from around the world, renowned artists, prestigious musicians all took part in the 8th edition of FIT Turda. With over 100 performances in multiple locations and more than 400 guest participants in the artistic act, the city literally transformed into a cultural capital of Romania for 10 days.
Among the notable guests were Marian Râlea, Anca Sigartău, Richard Balint, Sandu Grecu, Toma Enache, well-known actors from television projects, and esteemed musicians like Ada Milea, Ducu Bertzi, Fără Zahăr. The lineup also included reputed international facilitators in commedia dell’arte and contact improvisation such as Michele Modesto Casarin and Benno Voorham, as well as street artists from Argentina, Brazil, Italy, and Spain.
Throughout the events, the GraFITT magazine team had the opportunity to engage in conversations with some of the guests, who shared insights on the performing arts and their experiences.
‘It is like a treasure trove, this International Theater Festival, and I congratulate the organizers for not giving up and continuing this celebration,’ expressed one of the iconic figures of the Romanian theater scene, Marian Râlea. The renowned actress and director Anca Sigartău shared, ‘When you step on that stage, the lights come on. And in order to see yourself on stage, you need to be in the light. Isn’t this the fundamental lesson for living life beautifully?’
Mimi Brănescu, the director of the play ‘Genul Acuzativ,’ stated, ‘I believe theater should bring people together, providing stories that everyone can recognize and relate to.’
Art, in its various forms, animated the streets of Turda with grand performances, music, relaxation, unique shows, and guests who connected with the audience’s good mood, providing them moments of enchantment that will surely remain in memory for a long time.
‘All these memorable encounters would not have been possible without the support of our partners. We thank them for their assistance. We are already thinking about the 2025 edition,’ said Cătălin Grigoraș, the theater manager and president of the International Theater Festival Turda.
