Marcel Boloș, the Minister of Finance, has expressed his concerns about the state of Romania’s finances. Boloș stated that playing with the country’s finances is not an option and that the truth must be told, even if it is harsh. He even considered resigning because none of the proposed measures could effectively address the need for adjustment and return to normalcy. The Ministry of Finance is working hard to keep the deficit under control.
Boloș emphasized that the simulations conducted by the European Commission do not paint a positive picture. The budget deficit is reaching alarming levels, and the suspension of EU funds is a looming possibility. It is evident that urgent action is required to tackle these challenges.
