Boloș: I wanted to resign as Finance Minister and conveyed it to Prime Minister Ciolacu.

“I spoke about this possibility of resigning. I didn’t have it in writing, but I said that these measures are not about Marcel Boloș at all, they are commitments of Romania, assumed and we cannot play with the future of Romania,” said Marcel Boloș.

When asked how many times he mentioned resignation to Prime Minister Ciolacu, Boloș replied: “I can’t tell you, but I mentioned this, I didn’t know that this discussion would reach the public so quickly.”

“We have this situation because these are the commitments undertaken by Romania. There is a political cost that the coalition government assumes. It is natural for the decision to be theirs,” the minister added.

According to Libertatea’s information, the discussion between Marcel Boloș and Marcel Ciolacu was informal and took place in August, with the minister expressing his dissatisfaction with the discussions in the Coalition on fiscal measures.
