49.193 passionate fans at the “National Arena”, for Romania – Israel 1-1. Electrifying atmosphere, like in ’89, when we taught Denmark a football lesson, with that unforgettable 3-1 victory against the future European champion, who came in slippers from the beach.
Editorial by Horia Ivanovici. From the 42,439 at FCSB – CFR Cluj to the religion in Giuleşti
The only difference is that, today, Lupu charges through the FANATIK studio, while Gavril “Pele” Balint scores goal after goal on Digi Sport… The all-time record for matches of the “Tricolorii” at the country’s largest stadium was set at Romania – Finland: 54,364 frenzied fans!
On May 14, just a few months ago, FCSB – CFR Cluj became the match with the highest attendance of the last season in Liga 1: 42,439 spectators! It moved directly to the top of the ranking, surpassing FCSB – Rapid (31,233 spectators), Universitatea Craiova – FCSB in April (29,588 spectators), or the Transylvania derby, U Cluj – CFR Cluj (24,500 fans).
Now, in August, on the Ghencea stadium, a new attendance record was shattered: 28,519 football enthusiasts filled the “Temple” for FCSB – CFR Cluj!
Horia Ivanovici enthusiastically notes that the audience has returned in large numbers to the stadiums in Romania
Giulești, with a capacity of 14,047 seats, is always full. It has become a tradition there… The “Francisc Neuman” Arena in Arad is also packed to capacity, with 7,287 passionate locals, just like Sepsi’s stadium, with 8,400 seats.
In Galați, the derbies are usually played in a sold-out stadium: 13,500! At “Ilie Oană” in Ploieşti, around 10,000 people come to a match with minimal stake. And I could go on with rhythmic examples.
Moral: the only constant value of Romanian football remains the AUDIENCE!
Editorial by Horia Ivanovici: Our supporter has never abandoned us and, devotedly, has won all the matches
Otherwise, they all disappointed us this summer, from Gică’s Farul to Eduard’s national team! It didn’t matter that ticket prices doubled and the price of a beer tripled! For their passion, people gave their all…
The Romanian SUPPORTER truly deserves the respect of everyone, from Burleanu to Ivanovici. He is the only one who has never abandoned us and has won all the matches. Without him, we wouldn’t exist!
Let’s at least bow to him and owe him more consideration. More football… seems harder. Ironically, he, the fan, understands this, but chose never to “run away.” Always faithful, always there.
I have only one word for these fantastic Romanians in the stands: RESPECT!
