Constantin Şonea, also known as Costi, an employee of a pharmaceutical company, has been placed under 30-day pre-trial detention for selling the Fentanyl and Oxycodone tablets, even though they were supposed to be destroyed by the company he worked for. According to the transcripts from the case, the drugs ended up being sold at concerts, reports G4media.
Constantin Şonea, also known as Costi, was responsible for centralizing all the medications from the chain pharmacies across the country that were scheduled to be destroyed at the company’s headquarters, notes the cited source. He would withhold psychotropic medications, keep them at the company’s premises, and then traffic them based on orders.
According to prosecutors, during the period of July 2022 – September 21, 2023, the man “trafficked and possessed for the purpose of commercialization large quantities of high-risk and extremely high-risk drugs, namely 13,000 tablets containing the active substance Fentanyl, 868 tablets containing the active substance Oxycodone, 817 extended-release patches containing the active substance Fentanyl, 3,243 vials of morphine, 3,250 morphine tablets, 263 Codeine tablets, 487 tablets containing the active substance Alprazolam, as well as 1,800 tablets of Diazepam, Lorazepam, Bromazepam, Rivotril, drugs that represent high-risk substances”.
The drugs even reached concerts in Bucharest
According to the transcripts from the pharmacist’s case, the drugs were also intended for concerts in the capital.
