Turbulent start to the week for a man from Constanța, who experienced moments of panic in his own home. The man found a one-meter-long snake in his apartment on Suceava Street in Constanța and had to urgently call for help from the local gendarmerie. The snake managed to enter the house, but the situation was resolved without any problems. The gendarmerie officers arrived at the scene and successfully captured the snake, which was later released into its natural habitat.
An Unexpected Encounter in Constanța
A man residing on Suceava Street in Constanța had an alarming discovery in his own apartment. Around 1:00 pm, he found a snake measuring over one meter long. The manner in which the animal managed to enter the house remains unknown, but the man immediately dialed the emergency number 112.
A team from the Constanța County Gendarmerie Inspectorate quickly arrived at the location, where they captured the snake. The situation was resolved smoothly, and the reptile was released back into the wild, according to the representatives of the Gendarmerie.
“The intervention team from the Constanța County Gendarmerie successfully captured the snake and released it into its natural environment.”
Perhaps this is one of the rare cases where the animal was less than pleased with being released back into the wild, undoubtedly preferring the warmth of the apartment,” stated the Constanța County Gendarmerie on their Facebook page.
What to Do if You Find a Snake in Your House
A similar incident occurred in July in the Mehedinți County, where a woman from Hinova had a serious scare when she discovered a snake in her kitchen. The woman immediately contacted the gendarmerie, and the reptile was safely removed from her home. In such situations, it is advised not to provoke or attempt to capture the snake. It is best to seek assistance from the authorities.
The most venomous snake in Romania is Vipera ammodytes, also known as the horned viper, reaching a length of 90-95 cm. It can be found in Mehedinți, Vâlcea, Gorj, Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu, Constanța, Timiș, Caraș-Severin, and Tulcea counties.
Another species found in Romania is the mountain viper, which inhabits hilly or mountainous areas. The steppe viper, or ursini viper, is encountered in several counties in Romania, including Cluj, Alba, Suceava, Botoșani, Iași, Galați, and Tulcea.
