Costandachi Dumitru Alexandru, also known as “The Avenger from Berceni”, has been sentenced for committing the crime of harassment. The decision announced by the Bucharest Court of Appeal (CAB) on Monday, September 25, is final.
Diana, former partner of Costandachi, filed a complaint against him in 2020 for harassing her.
Two years later, in 2022, Diana obtained a restraining order against Alexandru Constandachi.
He violated the restraining order just a few hours after the police fitted him with a monitoring bracelet.

The man was sentenced to a penal fine of 7,200 lei (90 days of penal fine X 80 lei/day) for committing the crime of harassment, as stated in the court’s decision.
The same decision prohibits Costandachi from:
– exercising the right to be elected in public authorities or any other public functions,
– occupying a position that involves the exercise of state authority,
– communicating with the victim,
– approaching the victim at a distance of less than 100 meters,
– approaching the victim’s residence at a distance of less than 100 meters,
for a period of 1 year.
The court warned the defendant that, “in case of willful evasion of the fine payment, the number of unpaid fine days will be replaced with a corresponding number of imprisonment days.”
In addition, CAB judges also granted the victim’s civil action and require Alexandru Costandachi to pay her the amount of 7,000 lei as moral damages.
The Bucharest Court of Appeal’s verdict is final.
