Dacia Spring, a popular electric car in Romania due to its low purchase price, has received positive feedback from many buyers who are satisfied with the savings they have made.
However, some customers have encountered various issues with the car, with the most common problem being the long waiting time for spare parts in case of defects or accidents.
There have also been instances where the car has been put up for sale. One driver admitted to returning to a regular car, a Golf 2.0 TDI, as stated in a Facebook post.
“Dear all, after almost a year of struggling with the Spring, I am leaving the group. I have returned to a regular car: a Golf 2.0 TDI. I know its range, I can drive at normal speed outside the city, and I can afford extravagances like air conditioning and ventilation.
No more Kaufland vouchers, dysfunctional applications, numerous defects, zero features, and not even a EuroNCAP rating.”
Members of the group reminded the dissatisfied driver of the limitations of an electric car, while some mocked his decision.
“By the way, to boost sales, I offer you 8000 euros for your troublesome and worthless Spring, if you’re interested.”
“Few understand that the Spring is a second car in the family and is designed for city and nearby areas.”
“How about creating a fake account and spreading hate here when you probably have never even been in a new car, not to mention driven one.
So much frustration and hate among some Romanians.
And if you really owned a Spring but were beaten by the technology, thank you for selling it. It’s not for you. Natural selection is doing its job.”
“Good luck with distribution and ankle play, cleaning the ice off the windshield in the freezing winter with the engine running to warm up… How cool it is, from home, by the coffee table, to press a button on the app and start the air conditioning, and when you get to your Spring, the car is warmed up and all the windows are defrosted… Oh, and always keep an eye out for oil stains under the ‘tedei’! After all, that’s still pollution!” according to ziare.com.

“In another 4-5 years, I’ll recoup my investment in the Spring”
“To Germany’s ‘tedei,’ may the black smoke follow you. Anyway, the Spring is the ideal car for the city and nearby areas, where it has no rivals in terms of driving, fuel consumption, maneuvering in traffic, and easy parking. We kept a gasoline car for longer trips and have only used it twice in a year and a half.”
“They didn’t understand the limitations of an electric car. The Spring is an excellent city car for short distances. It’s a second car in the family. Of course, if the Spring is the only car in the family, you will tire of monitoring its range. It’s an excellent car for those who live in a house. It’s not suitable for those who live in an apartment and constantly struggle to find available charging stations.”
“I agree. We purchased this car because we were planning to move to a house outside the city. But if we had stayed in an apartment, we wouldn’t have bought it because charging would have been stressful. It’s perfect for the city.”
“In another 4-5 years, I’ll recoup my investment in the Spring, and after saving for another couple of years with electric driving, I’ll buy myself a Golf diesel with a sunroof. And to avoid worrying about diesel for a while, I’ll sell the Spring.”
