After the final, Coco Gauff also had a message for all the people who discouraged her, especially those on social media: “I thank them too. Last month, I won a 500 points tournament (Washington Open). They told me I would stop there.
Two weeks ago, I won a 1,000 points tournament (Cincinnati), and they told me I couldn’t go any further. Three weeks later, here I am.”
