SportClub din Liga 3 depășește Rapidul, Farul, Dinamo și Craiova la vânzarea abonamentelor

Rapid, Farul, Dinamo, Universitatea Craiova, and UTA have failed to retain their fans as FC Bihor has done in the third league. The expectations of the management in terms of season ticket sales have exceeded all expectations.

Rapid, Farul, Dinamo, Universitatea Craiova, and UTA “humbled” in terms of fans by a club from the third tier

Rapid is the club in the top league with the most season tickets sold, over 5,100, but they are surpassed by FC Bihor. The fans of FC Bihor have purchased almost 7,000 season tickets!

George Tătar, the president of FC Bihor, spoke about the extraordinary enthusiasm in Oradea, where the supporters bought a staggering 6,863 season tickets. The team from the third league will play in the group stage of the Romanian Cup Betano against FCSB and Dinamo: “The fact that we are number one in Romania is a pride for us. We have surpassed Rapid, which was in first place.

Even though the season tickets at Rapid were more expensive, let’s not forget that they have a team in the top league, while we are in the third league, which speaks even more about our achievement. I thank our supporters, our fans, as well as all football lovers who have purchased season tickets for our team’s matches this season.

Even the fitness coach at FC Bihor got involved in selling season tickets to meet the huge demand

I know that many of them are interested in the cup matches against the Romanian football giants, but I hope they will support us at the league games as well, because we need them there to support the team if we want to have quality football in our city and take a step forward in the championship,” said the official at a press conference.

The club was overwhelmed by the huge demand from fans, which was 1000% higher than last year when they only sold 50 season tickets. Now, all employees have contributed to fulfilling the orders: “Last but not least, I want to thank everyone at the club because for a week we haven’t been home before 10 PM.

Everyone got involved when there was this high demand for season tickets. And I’m talking about the fitness coach, the goalkeeper coach, the head coach, the coordinator of the Youth Academy, in other words, we were all like a family. I hope this will be a memorable year for us in every way,” George Tătar concluded. FC Bihor invited Emeric Ienei and Mihai Neșu, two symbols of Oradea’s football, to the matches against FCSB and FC Bihor.

How are the clubs in the top league doing in terms of season ticket sales

FCSB did not sell season tickets as they do not have their own stadium, while Rapid is the top team in this ranking. Surprisingly, UTA follows in this ranking. Arad’s team has sold around 4,200 season tickets for the 2023-2024 season, even though they narrowly avoided relegation in the playoff last season, according to bihon.ro.

The champion, Farul, also has 2,500 season ticket holders, considering that the stadium in Ovidiu has a capacity of only 4,500 seats and is located outside the city of Constanța. Dinamo is ahead of “marinari” in this aspect, and FANATIK has learned that the “white-reds” have sold over 2,600 season tickets upon their return to the top league, despite not having their own stadium and playing their matches either at the “Arcul de Triumf” stadium or at the “Arena Națională” (source).

Universitatea Craiova closes the podium, even though the “lions” are declining in this aspect. If in the 2018-2019 season, the Oltenians had over 7,000 season ticket holders, this season the supporters have purchased over 3,000 season tickets.

In the second league, CSA Steaua is the team with the most season tickets sold. According to FANATIK, the fans of the team from Ghencea have bought 1,510 season tickets.

  • FC Bihor has sold 6,863 season tickets for the 2023-2024 season
