“Romanians should not expect to shiver in their homes during winter! The scheme remains in effect until the following spring! The European Commission has recommended that we modify it by 2025,” stated Burduja, during a TV interview.

The prices currently paid by consumers are as follows:

Up to 100 kWh monthly, the maximum price is 0.68 lei/kWh

Between 100.01 kWh and 255 kWh monthly, the maximum price is 0.80 lei/kWh

For consumption exceeding 255 kWh, but below 300 kWh, the price ranges from 0.80 lei/kWh to 1.3 lei/kWh. The first 255 kWh will be billed at 0.80 lei/kWh, while the rest will be billed at 1.3 lei/kWh

For consumption exceeding 300 kWh monthly, the maximum price is 1.30 lei/kWh

Non-domestic electricity consumers, until March 31, 2025:

For 85% of the monthly consumption at the place of consumption, the maximum price is 1 lei/kWh. The difference in consumption will be billed at a maximum of 1.3 lei/kWh

Hospitals, schools, kindergartens, nurseries, and social service centers have a maximum price of 1 lei/kWh

Domestic natural gas consumers, until March 31, 2025:

The price is capped at 0.31 lei/kWh

Non-domestic natural gas consumers, until March 31, 2023:

For an annual consumption of up to 50,000 MWh and for thermal energy producers, the maximum price is 0.37 lei/kWh.
