BEC Rejects Electoral Alliance Formation Between PRCD and PNS

The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) decided on Friday to reject the protocol for the formation of the electoral alliance between the Christian Democratic Revolutionary Party and the National Socialist Party.

According to BEC’s decision, the formation of the alliance was based on rules regulating elections for the Chamber of Deputies and Senate, which are not applicable to local and European parliamentary elections.

“In the meeting on March 29, 2024, the Central Electoral Bureau for the European Parliament elections in 2024 and the local public administration authorities in 2024 (BEC) decided to reject the Protocol for the formation of the electoral alliance named ‘Respect Romania,’ composed of the Christian Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRCD) and the National Socialist Party (PNS).”

In the same session, BEC adopted a Resolution on the uniform application of the provisions of article 4 (1) of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 21/2024 regarding certain measures for the organization and conduct of elections for Romanian members of the European Parliament in 2024 and local public administration authorities elections in 2024.”

The full text of BEC’s decision and resolution can be accessed on the www.bec.ro website,” as stated in the press release signed by BEC’s president, Judge Vasile Bîcu.

The Central Electoral Bureau’s decision can be challenged at the High Court of Cassation and Justice within 24 hours from the publication on BEC’s website.

On Tuesday, BEC decided to approve the protocol for the formation of the electoral alliances “PSD PNL ELECTORAL ALLIANCE” and “OUR ROMANIA PARTY (P.R.N.) – AUTONOMOUS CONSERVATIVE DACISM PARTY (P.DAC).”

“Also, in the same session, BEC adopted the following decisions and resolutions:
