AUR Rejects Proposed Budget, Calls It “Ilegitimate” and a Threat to National Sovereignty

The AUR party, led by George Simion, has vehemently rejected the proposed budget for Romania, calling it “illegitimate” and a threat to national sovereignty. Simion, speaking at a press conference, stated that the AUR government would refuse to implement the budget plan, which was proposed by the current, politically unstable coalition. He urged the European Commission and the current coalition to retract the proposal.

“We demand that the European Commission and the current coalition withdraw this proposal submitted to the European Commission. We are here to make it clear, loud, and distinct: the future AUR government refuses to implement this budget plan proposed by a government that is illegitimate in terms of its support from Romania,” said Simion.

Simion emphasized his refusal to endorse measures that compromise Romania’s national independence and condemn the Romanian people to poverty. He specifically criticized the proposed budget’s implications for wages and pensions, which he claims will lead to a significant freeze.

“Freezing salaries and pensions is a very real issue that Prime Minister Ciolacu refuses to address. The president of the PNL, the president of the Senate, Nicolae Ciucă, simply doesn’t acknowledge it because it will affect small businesses, and no one wants to take responsibility. They even boast about how they will continue their reign,” Simion stated.

The AUR’s rejection of the proposed budget has sparked a heated debate in Romania. Some argue that the party’s stance is too extreme and could lead to economic instability. Others support the AUR’s position, arguing that the proposed budget is unfair and unsustainable.
